Boys Basketball Remains Tied for 1st in SWBL

Boys varsity continues to be tied for 1st place with a big week ahead. The Spartans traveled to Preble Shawnee last Friday while coming away with a convincing win of 72-51. The Spartans were led in scoring by Brian Behymer with 24 pts, Jake Audia, Ty Black, and Troy Black all contributed with 12 pts each, Matt Creditt had 4, Kory Stilwell and Jake Krumnauer had 3 pts each, and Zeb Farley added 2 pts. Jake Audia also led the team with 11 rebounds giving him a double double for the game. The Spartans had a great defensive night getting 20 steals, led by 6 from ty black.
The Spartans traveled Saturday night to Valley View to take on the leading scorer in the Dayton area. Waynesville did not fare to well on this evening losing 94-76. The Spartans of Waynesville were led in scoring by Troy Black with 21, Brian Behymer 17, Ty black 16, Zeb Farley 12, Kory Stilwell 6, and Jake Audia and Shelby Dermer each had 2.
The Spartans hosted Madison on Tuesday and won 61-44 to bring their record to 12-8 and 9-2 in the league tied with Carlisle. The Spartans were led in scoring by Brian Behymer with 23 and Troy Black 19. Shelby Dermer and Zeb Farley once again came off the bench and had very productive games. Shelby led the team with 6 assists and Zeb led the team in rebounding with 7.
Friday night the Spartans will host Dixie, and Saturday night Clinton Massie at home for senior night. The Spartans will be playing for a chance to win the league title for 2 consecutive years. Come out and support the teams as they wrap up the season this week.
Boys varsity will play Covington in the first round of the tournament at Tecumseh high school on Feb 23 at 6:30. Pre-sale tickets can be purchased at the high school office.
